Spelling Bee Unlimited
One puzzle a day is never enough. HiveWords Unlimited gives you a fresh seven-letter board whenever you want one — free, forever. Finish a board, tap New puzzle, and go again.
No 24-hour wait, ever
The biggest frustration with daily word games is the daily limit: you finish, you are hooked, and then you have to wait until tomorrow. HiveWords Unlimited removes that wall completely. There are over a thousand hand-vetted boards, and the moment you finish one — or simply get bored of it — you press New puzzle and a fresh seven-letter hive appears instantly. Play until your brain is tired, not until a timer says stop.
How unlimited mode works
Each board you receive is a complete spelling bee puzzle: seven letters, one mandatory center letter, at least one pangram, and a curated list of valid answers. Your current board and the words you have found are saved in your browser, so you can leave mid-puzzle and come back to it later. When you want a brand-new challenge, the New puzzle button draws another board at random from the vetted pool. Nothing is ever locked, timed, or rationed.
Every board is vetted for quality
Random letters make terrible puzzles — most combinations have no pangram, far too few words, or a pile of unusable obscure entries. That is why HiveWords does not generate boards on the fly. Every puzzle in the unlimited pool is pre-screened to guarantee:
- at least one genuine pangram using all seven letters,
- a playable number of answers (not so few that it is frustrating, not so many that it becomes a grind),
- and enough common, everyday words that the board feels fair and solvable.
The result is endless variety without the junk boards that plague auto-generated clones.
Tips for marathon sessions
- Find the pangram early. It is worth a big bonus and often reveals the high-value long words hiding in the board.
- Use shuffle as a reset. A fresh arrangement of the outer letters breaks tunnel vision faster than staring.
- Do not force it. If a board stops being fun, that is exactly what New puzzle is for — there is no penalty for moving on.
Free and independent
Unlimited play here is completely free, with no rewarded-ad hint wall and no account. HiveWords is an independent puzzle and is not affiliated with The New York Times or its Spelling Bee. Prefer a single shared challenge each day? Try the daily puzzle, or head back to the main game.
